John McCarthy, Bill Ward

ZS Genetics announced today that current board member John McCarthy has joined the company as Chief Executive Officer. McCarthy joins the firm after serving as CEO and Director of CryoXtract Instruments. McCarthy also previously served as president and CEO of Qteros and held various executive positions at companies that included Microbia, Verenium, Synta Pharmaceuticals, and Exact Sciences, as well as in the Investment Banking Group of Morgan Stanley. He also currently serves as chairman of the board of InVivo Therapeutics.

The firm also said that Bill Ward is retiring as president of ZS Genetics but will remain on the firm's scientific advisory board.
