The board of the Australian Centre for Plant Functional Genomics has appointed David Mitchell its CEO, effective Jan. 19. Mitchell has extensive experience leading and developing cross-disciplinary teams in the public as well as the private sectors. He was at the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation for seven years and played a leadership role in developing CSIRO's bioinformatics capabilities and he held roles that were responsible for performing due diligence on commercial transactions and identifying business opportunities for spin-outs.
