Chris Grimley

Labcyte has appointed Chris Grimley its VP of marketing. The Sunnyvale, Calif.-based firm said Grimley would be responsible for "driving demand for products and services, and growing sales of the Echo liquid handler in emerging application areas such as in synthetic biology, next-generation sequencing, and personalized medicine."

Grimley most recently served as VP of marketing at NanoString Technologies, and also previously was senior director of marketing at Agilent Technologies, heading marketing for that firm's genomics portfolio. He worked for Applied Biosystems from 2004 to 2008, holding positions of increasing responsibility including director of marketing for the company's real-time PCR instrument portfolio, Labcyte said.
