Waters' Xevo TQ-XS Mass Spectrometer

Waters has launched its Xevo TQ-XS mass spectrometer. The new spectrometer features a combination of ion optics, detection, and ionization technologies, including the StepWave XS ion guide, the XDR Detector, and the UniSpray, that result in high sensitivity levels. The StepWave XS ion guide removes neutral species and transmits ions in a more focused beam to the detector by incorporating segmented quadrupole transfer optics in the second stage. The XDR Detector is a photomultiplier detection system, originally introduced on the Xevo TQ-S micro, capable of quantifying sample compounds across a concentration range of six order of magnitude. The UniSpray is a novel proprietary ionization source that enables ionization of a wider range of analytes in a single chromatographic run.
