Thermo Fisher Scientific has released Minor Variant Finder, a software tool for detecting and reporting low-frequency somatic mutations found in Sanger sequence data. According to the company, the software's improved sensitivity and noise minimization algorithm make it posible for oncologists and pathologists to call somatic variants at detection levels as low as 5 percent.
