Promega Maxwell RSC PureFood GMO and Authentication Kit

Promega has launched its Maxwell RSC PureFood GMO and Authentication kit for food testing. The kit can purify DNA for use in PCR-based testing from raw and processed food samples — including corn, soybeans, canola, ground pork, ground beef, pork gelatin, breaded fish, tortillas, corn chips, and rice cakes — in under two hours, the company said. The new product is used on the Maxwell RSC instrument which purifies nucleic acid using novel paramagnetic particles and allows optimal capture, wash, and elution of the target material from 1 to 16 samples with minimal manual intervention.
