Orion GenRead Test for C. Difficile Infection

Orion Diagnostica has launched the GenRead test for detecting Clostridium difficile infection in stool samples. It is now available in Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. The solution is based on Orion's proprietary isothermal nucleic acid amplification technology, Strand Invasion Based Amplification. The system is targeted to the toxin B-producing gene tcdB and it is highly specific and sensitive. The results are available in less than one hour but high positive samples can be called positive in 15 minutes.
