OraSure DNA Genotek OmniMet-Gut (ME-200) Sample Collection Device

OraSure Technologies' DNA Genotek subsidiary has launched OmniMet-Gut (ME-200), a device for in-home self collection of fecal samples for metabolomics. Until now, the only option to study metabolites in feces required immediate freezing and cold chain shipping of the sample, OraSure said. The DNA Genotek device features a proprietary chemistry that provides a minimum of seven days of stability at room temperature, allowing donors to collect their samples at home and return it to the laboratory in a reasonable timeframe while maintaining the integrity of the sample. Intended for research use only, the device was validated in collaboration with Metabolon, OraSure said.
