Nonacus Whole-Genome Sequencing Service for SARS-CoV-2 Testing Laboratories

Nonacus, based in Birmingham, UK, has launched a new service for whole-genome sequencing of SARS-CoV-2, developed under a grant from Innovate UK to support the UK government's test-to-release scheme. All international arrivals to the UK are required to take a test on days two and eight of their quarantine period for variant surveillance. Day-two samples shown to be positive from qRT-PCR testing will have the SARS-CoV-2 genomes sequenced to look for novel variants. Nonacus' new service will support this scheme and enable monitoring of the disease, the company said.
