Eurofins NGS Tests to ID Non-Targeted Microorganisms

Eurofins Genomics and Eurofins Food Microbiology Laboratory have launched next-generation sequencing-based non-targeted bacterial screening for food and feed testing; and 16S microbiome profiling for research use.

The company's NGS-based non-targeted bacterial screening service can be used on raw or processed food matrices and provides a comprehensive view of the flora present in a product through the use of advanced bioinformatics and database solutions.

The 16S microbiome profiling service is specifically geared toward academic, pharmaceutical, and environmental researchers. It allows customers to choose from several add-ons such as DNA extraction and bioinformatics, as well as analysis of specific 16S regions, Eurofins said.
