Canon BioMedical's Novallele Genotyping Assays

Canon BioMedical has launched eleven new genotyping assays. The new assays complement the company's existing 32 assays that target important genes in the CYP family and are part of the 75 Novallele genotyping assays offered by the company that are able to detect variants relevant to pharmacogenetics research. The Novallele assays detect genetic variations using PCR followed by high-resolution melting (HRM) analysis on any thermocycler capable of HRM. The company noted that these assays can not only identify variations in the CYP family, but can also identify variations in the VKORC1, SLC6A4, and DPYD genes.
