3000 Rice Genomes Project
Data from the 3000 Rice Genome Project (3K RGP) is now available on Amazon Web Services. The dataset contains over 30 million genetic variations accross known and predicted rice genes.
3K RGP is an international effort to sequence the genomes of 3,024 rice varieties from 89 countries. The project is a partnership between the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, the International Rice Research Institute, and BGI. In June, the project tapped DNANexus cloud-based informatics platform to handle data processing.
