Job Description

The business intelligence report developer / analyst provides technical & functional expertise in developing and supporting the WebFocus Business Intelligence Platform. The report developer / analyst will develop and deliver accurate and timely reporting objects, support ETL processes and take a developer lead in projects that align with finance initiatives. It is anticipated the report developer / analyst will interface with various business users across the organization. The individual will participate in all phases of the development life cycle and provide tier 2 / tier 3 application support.

- Execute all development activities related to report object development, testing, implementation and post production support.
- Deliver simple and complex parameter driven reports, charts, graphs and row & column reports within a portal framework
- Must be willing to learn new tools and technologies quickly
- Work in a rapid growth environment with changing needs & requirements as users understand better the capabilities of the new reporting tools
- Work with business analysts to ensure all business requirements have been met
- Proven track record of being able to plan, prioritize, estimate & deliver quality projects & work on time
- Work with business users to enhance reporting information to deliver the best information in a user friendly format
- Apply complex features and techniques in the building of reporting objects & reporting solutions
- Understand grant driven data definitions and related source system business processes

- Ability to work in a dynamic, cross collaborative environment to discuss, plan, design and develop solutions to meet business needs
- Ability to innovate and develop new approaches to complex design problems
- Closely monitor functional performance of the reporting environment; support the identification of problems and implement solutions; ensure the reports are running at an optimum speed and efficiency
- Support reporting changes and enhancements
- The individual will keep apprised of and work to priorities within issues backlog
- The individual will understand product roadmap & strategic goals for FHCRC BI program
- Provide daily technical support and troubleshooting for BI issues/defects
- Ability to interface directly with business users and provide high-quality customer service
- The individual will be a part of the data team supporting the ETL processes & design / build of new ETL data flows

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in information systems, computer science or related field or equivalent experience
- Experience using Information Builders WebFocus required
- Minimum of 3 years experience working on at least one or more Business Intelligence products
- Must have experience writing and converting complex SQL queries into reporting solutions
- Experience working in a medium to large scale Enterprise Data Warehouse environment
- Experience working with financial data is a must
- Experience working in a non-profit, grant based environment a plus
- Experience with PeopleSoft Financials any Hyperion Planning a plus
- Experience with data modeling tools (Toad, Erwin) and techniques a plus

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in documenting design specifications and other related documentation
- Detail oriented, proactive and have the ability to work under pressure in an independent environment
- Ability to listen to requirements, ask the right questions to learn business needs, translate into specifications and create reporting objects that meet those needs
- Knowledge of business intelligence best practices
- Ability to communicate a design and build consensus
- Experience using Agile development methodologies
