Job Description

-This role will be based in the Commercial Operations Department fostering and enabling the Commercial Operations Organization through training.
VP Commercial Training within the Commercial Operations Department is responsible for:
-Leading the global Commercial Training Team with focus on leading the locally distributed field trainers to deliver highly effective and motivating training programs in alignment with the Commercial Operations and Business Area Strategies
-Develop curriculum for commercial functions in conjunction with other training teams
-Support assessment, identification, and implementation of commercial productivity tools to improve commercial execution
-Identify, train and implement selling models to improve execution and standardize globally. Ensure training and implementation across all commercial functions.
-Defining and constantly reviewing the strategic competencies relevant for an effective and motivated Commercial Operations Team in close alignment with the Commercial Operations Leadership Team and the Global Professional and Organizational Learning Team
-Defining and implementing Blended Learning Programs to enable the Commercial Operations team to acquire applicable knowledge
-Identifying the specific knowledge gaps in terms of product-specific knowledge and closely aligning and working with global and regional Marketing to ensure program delivery
-Defining and implementing the global Learning Landscape for Commercial Operations in alignment with the Global Professional and Organizational Learning Team
-Being a knowledge expert for the design and delivery of adult learning programs
-Coordination with other Senior leaders across functions in QIAGEN and with external suppliers/contractors to effectively and efficiently deliver projects
-Working closely with the Global Professional and Organizational Learning Team to ensure alignment of processes and the creation of synergies especially in the training administration area as well as in the design of programs that align with the QIAGEN Career Path System
-Coaching and mentoring of the team and also managers and leaders in the Commercial Operations area
-Contributing and driving ideas for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of processes within the training area

Requirements

Leadership Experience and Skills:
-10 years of extensive experience as a Trainer and Coach especially in the context of commercial skill training
-Deep understanding of the design of adult learning environment including Online and Blended Learning Scenarios
-Always ensures that own actions are in alignment with QIAGEN's mission and corporate strategy and deals actively with the development of the company and the own area of responsibility.

-Able to develop the team members' skills by planning and carrying out effective actions in relation to current and future tasks. At the same time, considers the team members' personal motivation and interests
-Conveys confidence in employees' abilities, allows room to maneuver in dealings and decision-making and ensures a clear assignment of tasks in consideration of the company and departmental goals.
-Demonstrates support for organizational changes necessary to improve the company’s effectiveness; prepares his team and surroundings for these changes and manages the change successfully
-Willing and able to make decisions within his own area of responsibility in consideration of relevant information.-Must be able to relocate to Germantown, MD.
