Job Description

Seeking a highly motivated in vivo cancer pharmacologist with industry experience to join the In Vivo Oncology team at AstraZeneca, Waltham MA. Primary focus will be the design and execution of in vivo studies to advance new drug candidates in the Oncology portfolio. This will include developing and characterizing mouse models of cancer, design and delivery of in vivo PK/PD screening cascades to support lead optimization, in vivo efficacy studies to support dose and schedule optimization and hypothesis driven combinations.

Requirements: 

•Ph.D. with 2+ years or BS/MS with 5+ years industry experience in cancer pharmacology required, with focus on in vivo studies to advance cancer drug candidates 
•Experience using mouse models of cancer (xenograft, primary patient, and syngeneic) to evaluate the in vivo pharmacology of small molecule drugs. 
•Experience and strong working knowledge of in vivo pharmacology techniques required, including preparation of test compounds, handling and dosing mice, and collection of blood and tissues for PK and PD biomarker analysis. 
•Experience with sterile tissue culture, and with basic cellular biology techniques required 
•Experience with preclinical development of immune modulating agents for cancer is desired. 
•Demonstrated ability to interface with project teams on preclinical stage projects required 
•Strong track record of delivery of high quality in vivo data. 
•Strong communication skills.
