Job Description

Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre offers cutting edge cancer genomics screening for actionable clinical variation, including testing for early and late stage clinical trials. Our clinically targeted next generation sequencing panels require expert interpretation and reporting to the medical and research community. In this new role, funded by the Melbourne Genomics Health Alliance (MGHA), you will be located in the Molecular Pathology laboratory at Peter Mac, and be responsible for developing training programmes to meet the needs of our own medical laboratory scientists, and those within MGHA member laboratories.

 

  • Direct responsibility for training medical laboratory scientists in cancer variant curation and interpretive reporting of cancer variant data.
  • Implement Melbourne Genomics training programme for Workforce Development of medical laboratory scientists in cancer variant curation.
  • Develop training and assessment programme to meet the wider needs of the Molecular Pathology section of Peter Mac.
  • Perform cancer variant curation and reporting within the Molecular Pathology laboratory curation team
