Job Description

The Technical Product Manager (TPM) for Oncology is responsible for the developing and executing a strategy to grow SeraCare’s Seraseq oncology product line within the top global molecular diagnostics companies and clinical laboratories. Working within the strategic marketing team for Molecular and Precision Medicine, the TPM will use strong technical and market knowledge to develop programs, products and tools to support efforts for deeper partnerships within the MDx organizations for the oncology testing market.  Leveraging our full partnership capabilities, and growing product portfolio across the natural and engineered tools for diagnostic assay development, this role will work closely with the Clinical Sales teams in providing technical consultation and support to drive adoption of our reference material technologies such as the Seraseq Mutation Mix-I and Seraseq FFPE Fusion RNA.  This role will also identify opportunities for new product development (NPD) and help to provide these requirements to the NPD teams. This role will be expected to develop technical content, train internal and external partners, execute new product launches and drive adoption in our target markets.  Forecasting, market pricing and developing competitive analyses will also be required.

The TPM, Oncology will interface with strategic marketing, R&D, manufacturing engineering, quality, and sales to define product requirements, and is tasked to work with marketing communications to define the go-to-market strategy, including product positioning, key benefits, and target customers.  This position is also the internal and external advocate for the products, working with the sales channel and key customers.


Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree, Master Degree preferred. Minimum 5 years of marketing experience with 10 yrs industry experience. Technically-proficient in molecular biology and oncology diagnostics and a p roven track record of implementing tactical marketing plan plans to increase sales and profitability. Experience in the clinical diagnostics and/or biopharma industry required. Must have proven ability in understanding the oncology LDT market for NGS- and other genomic technologies, a firm grasp of the product development process, familiarity with field-testing products and gathering feedback, as well as deep knowledge of the IVD R&D space. Comfortable with developing and delivering technical capabilities presentations to audience of R&D and manufacturing groups. Must have a demonstrated ability to accept and overcome difficult challenges and be able to manage risk effectively. Experience working within small to mid-size companies where admin infrastructure is minimal and a willingness to lead by example and contribute individually is required. Must have high quality written and oral communication skills and the proven ability to meet deadlines and work independently, along with a high degree of creativity. Overnight and international travel as required to meet goals.
