Job Description

The Novartis Cell and Gene Therapies team is seeking a creative and accomplished T cell immunologist to improve and optimize current T cell immunotherapy platforms. Generate highly multiplexed cellular biomarker data in support of early discovery, preclinical and clinical phases of projects for T cell immunotherapy. Contribute to various projects outside of his/her own, and collaborate with stakeholders from all relevant functions. Keep up-to-date in the literature related to his/her field. Act as an expert resource in his/her scientific field and in related disciplines, and participate in a cutting edge research program related to the field of T cell immunotherapy of cancer. Independently design, perform and analyze experiments.

Requirements:
Principal Scientist Ph.D., M.D., or Ph.D./M.D. and at least 5-10 years or Sr Scientist 3-5 yrs. laboratory research experience in either an academic or a corporate environment. English. Detailed knowledge of T cell immunology, cancer immunotherapy, and/or cancer immunology principles and experimental techniques. Hands on experience with molecular and cellular biology assay techniques. Substantial experience, in the form of publications or patent applications, with high definition analytical techniques such as mass cytomtery (CyTOF) and quantitative proteomics is highly desirable. Experience in the development, characterization, and implementation of cell and immune assays. Demonstrate a proven ability to generate high quality data. Be capable of managing projects or teams in a highly-matrixed environment. Substantial experience with high definition analytical techniques such as CyTOF and quantitative proteomics is highly desired. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and be capable of presenting scientific results to multidisciplinary teams, senior management, and at external scientific meetings.
