Job Description

Wamberg Genomic Advisors is searching for a Marketing Communications Manager in San Diego, CA.  The Marketing Communications Manager is responsible for the creation, implementation, measurement, and continuous improvement of all marketing collateral and social media projects that drive awareness of the WGA brand and adoption of our flagship product Cancer Guardian™.  

Marketing Communications Manager Duties and Responsibilities

  • Creates content for brochures, press releases, ads, sell sheets, social posts, case studies, white papers, presentation decks, videos, and other collateral that clearly demonstrates the value of WGA products
  • Manages website content; develops a website traffic plan including search engine optimization efforts and paid search advertising
  • Creates, develops, and executes social media marketing plan
  • Continually optimizes marketing messages and tactics through regular analysis and by conducting A/B testing of email, social posts, landing pages, and offers
  • Analyzes the effectiveness of all marketing efforts, including their contribution to awareness and lead conversion 
  • Builds strategic relationships with third-party marketing partners, vendors, and freelancers; manages partner relationships and evaluates partner performance
  • Manages marketing collateral inventory for distribution channels for products
  • Represents the marketing department and WGA favorably and in accordance with established WGA standards 
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by management
  • Bachelor’s Degree in life sciences, health, business administration, marketing, or communications; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years in marketing communication leadership role in the life sciences or insurance industries 
  • Possesses exceptional verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong presentation abilities
  • Excellent & passionate writer with the ability to concisely communicate technical subject matter in a compelling manner
  • Proven ability to use both traditional and digital marketing techniques in integrated and aligned campaigns
  • Expertise in print, digital and social media content creation and execution
  • Displays excellent project management abilities
  • Experience in community building and/or brand ambassador marketing
  • Proficient in MS Office Salesforce, WordPress, Adobe Creative Suite, Google Analytics, and Social Platforms;strong computer, technology, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team; self-motivation; adaptability; and a positive attitude
  • Ability to adopt new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies
  • Ability to quickly learn, comprehend, retain, and express complex scientific and medical concepts
  • Ability to effectively present complex scientific and medical concepts through a wide range of written and visual marketing communications channels
  • Ability to create a variety of impactful marketing materials that effectively communicate WGA’s product offering and value proposition
  • Ability to understand the treatment and care of cancer patients and clearly express the Cancer Guardian impact on the cancer diagnostic and treatment journey
