Fluidigm is seeking for an outstanding individual to join a vibrant interdisciplinary group of bioinformatics and application scientists to develop novel single analysis software platform to enable scientists to understand fundamental biological processes.
Essential duties include, but are not limited to,
Design, implement and maintain software architectures for high performance computing for large genomic data. Perform basic and advanced analysis on data generated from next generation sequencing platforms. The analysis will include but not limited to sequence alignment, variant calling and annotation, RNA expression and differential analysis.

Requirements: EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
Advanced degree in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Statistics or related fields. 5+ years working experience in software development for Bioinformatics and Statistical analysis.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Extensive development experience in Unix/Linux, Perl, Python, R and MySQL. Extensive experience with NGS technologies, sequence analysis tools, and public biological databases. Good understanding statistics and bioinformatic algorithms. Experience in C++, object-oriented design and cloud-computing is strong plus. Highly self-motivated and enjoy working as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proactive and takes ownership for producing positive results Contributes as a valued team member and colleague with leaders at all levels Demonstrates personal self-awareness and desire for continual learning and personal development Keeps commitments; exhibits candor and courage Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
