We are looking to recruit an experienced and motivated software developer to join the growing Variation and European Genome-phenome archive team at the EBI (EMBL-EBI) which is located on the Wellcome Trust Genome Campus near Cambridge in the UK. The team is responsible for large scale data submission and archiving, analyses and QC, as well as data presentation through web and secure download services. The scope of this growing dataset includes next-generation sequencing based genomic and phenotype data for more than half a million samples totalling multiple petabytes. The successful candidate will take part in developing and deploying new standards driven data models for submitted data, automation and refactoring of our data validation and archive processes, data integration into other services at the EBI and data exchange with our international collaborators. (S)he will also be expected to attend and present the service at internal meetings and scientific conferences. The EBI is part of the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) and is a world-leading bioinformatics centre providing biological data to the scientific community with expertise in data storage, analysing and representation. EMBL-EBI provides a dynamic, international working environment and has close ties with both the University of Cambridge and the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute.
