Job Description

The Genomics Institute seeks a Software Engineer to join the highly collaborative Computational Genomics Laboratory (CGL) and work with a global team of genomics experts to create the Human Cell Atlas, a compendium that maps which genes are active in each cell in the human body. The goal of the project is to "create comprehensive reference maps of all human cells—the fundamental units of life—as a basis for both understanding human health and diagnosing, monitoring, and treating disease.”  The CGL uses big data technologies to facilitate genomic research for global health issues such as breast cancer and other genetic risk factors. The selected candidates should be excited to work in a start-up like environment within an institution of higher education in beautiful Santa Cruz, CA.
