Job Description

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY
Provide support to research scientists through the development, deployment, maintenance, integration, and continued expansion of chemical informatics and data management systems for the Chemical Biology platform. Systems include electronic lab notebooks, LIMS systems for managing the production and screening of small molecule libraries. Develops and implements querying and reporting systems that enables scientists to analyze their data. Collaborate with automation team providing API integration support for systems and workflows. This enthusiastic self-starter must communicate clearly with chemists and biologists. Responds to customer needs, performs requirement analysis and creates effective written documentation.

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES
- Participate in design, implementations, and testing systems
- Effectively communicates the technical approach on assigned tasks with peers and supervisor
- Works with end users to write and understand software requirements and ensure applications are developed to specification
- Communicates code risk assessments to supervisor and other team members
- Provide support on routine assignments such as error tracking, testing of code changes and reporting of software quality metrics
- Maintains, upgrades, fixes and reviews product source code

- B.S. in computer science or related field and a minimum 5 years’ experience in software development
- Experience with object-oriented programming in Java, Groovy and C#
- Experience with Hibernate and Spring
- Working knowledge of relational databases and proficiency in SQL
- Working knowledge of RESTful web services
- Experience with version control, SVN or Git and testing frameworks (JUnit/Spock)
- Experience in web application development, coding for and testing user interfaces in multiple web browsers
- Experience with Python, JavaScript, HTML, CSS
- Motivated, self-starter willing to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment
