Job Description

Fluidigm Corporation has pioneered products capable of understanding biology, both at the bulk level, and at the level of the individual cell. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to support reagent product development activities using Fluidigm’s microfluidic platforms, together with an interdisciplinary team. The candidate will be working on reagent development for genotyping, gene expression, NGS at the bulk and single cell level. 

Develop novel technologies and reagents used for Next Generation Sequencing of bulk and single cells 
Interpret NGS data and use computational tools to interpret results 
Participate in the development of applications and protocols 
Define, develop, test and validate products for commercial release. Generate data to support marketing and sales. 
Work with Operations and Production teams to transfer products from development to production.


Ph.D. in molecular biology, chemistry or biochemistry, with 2-5 years of experience, or M.S with 5+ years of experience required. 
Experience with Next Generation Sequencing of RNA and DNA essential. 
Experience in bioinformatics and statistical analysis essential 
Hands-on experience in developing genomic assay technologies (e.g. qPCR and NGS) and broad experience in standard molecular biology techniques essential. 
Experience with product development a plus, including leading projects from concept to commercial release. 
Experience with microfluidic platforms a plus 
Experience with single cell analysis a plus. 
High-performance individual with a proven ability to generate results. 
Ability to successfully work in a team environment and to adapt to rapidly evolving needs. 
Ability to lead projects and interdisciplinary teams. 
Demonstrated ability to solve problems independently, run experiments, analyze data, interpret results and modify procedures, present results in public and maintain experimental records. 
Strong written and oral communication skills.
