The scientist will work with an interdisciplinary team to develop new applications to analyze single cell genomics in Integrated Fluidic Circuits. The scientist will use his skills in molecular biology and enzymology to develop marketable cutting edge techniques and reagents that are used in massively parallel devices.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Innovation and discovery: Invent new technologies and procedures to better analyze genomics on single cell level.
Product development process: Develop and test new protocols; data analysis and interpretation; product requirements and specification development; QC procedures and design for manufacture expertise
Implementation: Implement molecular manipulations in Integrated Fluidic Circuits.
Preparation and presentation of technical reviews.
Enzyme/protein purification, activity assays, and quantification.
Interfacing with collaborators, application test sites, and customers (travel included)
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Ph.D. plus 5+ years industry experience in Molecular Biology, or Enzymology.
Demonstrated experience in developing new enzymes, or new reagents.
Expert in nucleic acid preps including purification, amplification, detection/quantitation, and sequencing
Experience in NGS or library preparation.
Extensive experience in transposases and transposons.
PCR and real time quantitative PCR.
Transposase, transposon, Nextera, NGS, molecular biology, DNAseq, library.
