Primary Duties, Functions, and Responsibilities
Utilizes a battery of assay technologies to evaluate effects of modulators on bioprinted tissue constructs, including ELISA, qPCR, viability and histology.
Identifies and implements new assay technologies that have an impact on assay throughput and/or performance
Primary cell isolation, culture, and maintenance of bioprinted tissues
Participates in fabrication of bioprinted tissues, including independent fabrication where applicable
Prepares detailed SOPs that enable transfer of validated assays to project teams and customers
Reporting of results to supervisor and internally at group meetings
Other Duties as assigned.
BS or MS in biology, physiology, molecular and cell biology, microbiology, or a closely related field
Work experience: MS, minimum 5 years in an academic or industrial setting. BS, minimum 8 years in an academic or industrial setting.
Extensive experience in most of the following: mammalian tissue culture, ELISA, qPCR, histology, flow cytometry
Experience evaluating and implementing new techniques
Experience in 3D cancer models and cancer cell biology is a plus.
Must be able to work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary groups in a fast-paced work environment
Must be able to work independently and demonstrate initiative on experimental design, execution, and analysis
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a track record of effective presentation of scientific data
Detail and task-oriented
Positive attitude and the ability to keep calm under pressure
Some weekend work will be required
