Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Director of Marketing and Commercial Operations, the Senior Product Manager, Carrier Franchise will be responsible for managing the promotion, pricing, performance, and increased profitability for the carrier screen testing product line. The ideal candidate will solicit, analyze and communicate feedback from customers and will work closely with sales, operations, marketing communications, regulatory and other departments to ensure that the products meet Sequenom’s high standards and are marketed effectively.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and regularly communicate customer needs and market trend, requirements, and issues
  • Define target markets, strategy, product positioning, pricing, etc. for existing and new products
  • Develop, monitor, and amend annual marketing plans to achieve sales goals
  • Create sales aids and collateral, and pricing and promotion programs
  • Participate in the development and support of trade shows and seminars
  • Provide sales support through regular field travel with sales representatives
  • Develop and deliver persuasive presentations at scientific or educational seminars
  • Develop customer advocates as spokespersons through testimonials, journal clubs or seminars
  • Analyze product sales, market trends and competitive threats to develop plans and maximize sales potential
  • Develop deep customer understanding via market research, advisory boards, and field visits
  • Create and manage annual promotion budget 
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree; preferably in Business Administration or Science
  • Advanced degree preferred
  • 5-7 years relevant experience in marketing or product management; preferably in molecular diagnostic and/or with OBGYNs
  • Experience marketing or selling regulated products
  • Strong presentation, organizational and communication skills
  • Strong sense of accountability
  • Knowledge of prenatal diagnostic and genetic testing market preferred
