Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage complex product families through the entire product life cycle.
  • Develop strategic marketing plan and implement tactical programs for successful product launches and possible acquisitions; develop and implement comprehensive product launch plans.  Responsible for developing and achieving annual business and marketing plans for product families.
  • Analyze market opportunities and customer needs to define opportunities for new product lines.  Create product specifications that provide direction to R&D to help formulate new product ideas. Identify potential financial rewards and competitive strategies.  Collaborate with R&D to ensure that products being developed are targeted to identified opportunities. Make complex specification and investment trade-offs as necessary.
  • Propose and manage collaborations with third parties as necessary to provide a strong competitive position and whole product solution.
  • Ensure that products managed may be found by customers who are searching for products or applications and that web content is informative and aids customers in making purchase decisions.   Conduct multi-layered outbound marketing campaigns that create demand and establish opportunities in new market areas.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive product launch campaigns that include outbound marketing, web, sales strategies, webinars and other outbound marketing as necessary. Conduct webinars, sponsored promotions and other complex market development strategies.
  • Conduct annual product line reviews as necessary that summarizes market conditions, sales performance, SWOT, BCG, IP, competitor activity, strategic alternatives and recommended strategies with clear reasoning as to how we can be successful.  Make investment and collaboration recommendations to ensure complete product solutions and competitive positions.   Conduct post 6 month launch reviews for key products that clearly identifies necessary remedial action.
  • Work with Operations to ensure consistent product availability and quality, minimize scrap and other inventory costs.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with opinion leaders, key customers and distributors; visit key customers attend trade shows and other customer events.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior marketing team members
Requirements

Education / Experience

  • Requires a BA, BS degree; MS, PhD a big plus
  • Minimum of 6+ years related experience
