JOB SCOPE | YOUR MISSIONThe Senior Product Manager manages the Voice of the Customer (VOC) process for identifying the specifications and performance characteristics of new products that are developed in-house or licensed externally.  Supports the Design and Development process for FDA-regulated and CE-IVDD cleared diagnostics products. Manages the strategic marketing elements of promotion, pricing, menu and distribution channels of Diagnostics products both domestically and internationally to achieve established financial and strategic goals.  Supports applicable regulations including ISO, Local, State, and/or Federal requirements.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES | YOUR CONTRIBUTIONSDevelops and implements the processes for best capturing the needs and wants of the DiaSorin Molecular customer base.Translates customer input into Marketing Requirements Document and Target Product Profile.Participates in the Portfolio Planning process, including product prioritization and rationalization.Develops and executes strategic marketing business plans and programs, both short and long term, to ensure the profitable growth and market share of the portfolio.Develops, communicates and implements strategic pricing policies and guidelines that maximize profits and sales volume.Provides accurate product forecasts to production/operations in an effort to avoid backorders and/or excess inventory at initial product launch.Serves as a technical expert to the field sales organization on Diagnostic products and related competitive products.Assists Technical Services with the troubleshooting of product complaints and service issues.Develops training materials, educational materials and training presentations for the field sales organization.Provides pipeline updates to domestic sales force and international counterparts, as needed.Builds and maintains an up-to-date comprehensive file on all key competitors and products.Serves as a point person for the field sales organization concerning arrangements for field-based diagnostic product presentations, speaking engagements, and other promotional opportunities for upstream product portfolio.Provides input to senior leadership team on appropriate investments into early R&D projects in alignment with strategic and financial goals.Serves as the senior Commercial representative on assigned Core Teams.Takes an active role in identifying new market opportunities and creating relevant project proposals; Work closely with Research and Development to seek out and identify opportunities to expand product offering.Up to 25% travel may be requiredVisits key clients and international distributors to promote long term relationships and networking contacts.Perform work within published expense and budget guidelines.Responsible for performing assigned tasks in accordance with applicable safety regulations and instructions, as well as correcting unsafe work habits and practices and/or bringing to the attention of the Safety Team or a supervisor any practice or condition that may be detrimental to the safety and health of the employees.  Cooperate in all safety or health-related programs and assist in solving safety and health problems as necessary. Violations of safety directives and procedures will be handled in accordance with the established Company disciplinary process.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & PERSONAL STRENGTHS | YOU

EDUCATION:B.S. or B.A. degree-MBA preferred.  
EXPERIENCE:Minimum of 5-6 years of technical marketing experience in diagnostic or reference laboratory industry.  Business Development and Licensing experience a plus.  Experience with “sample to answer” technologies required. Infectious disease technical background strongly preferred.  Demonstrated ability to discuss new product concepts and industry trends with Ph.D. and MD level contacts.  
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:Knowledge of the infectious disease marketplace; knowledge of key industry players, publications, conventions, etc.  Close attention to detail.  
SKILLS:Ability to work effectively on cross-functional teams.Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences.Excellent public speaking and written communications skills. Strong financial and analytical skills.Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems and make sound business decisions
