Job Description

PacBio is seeking an ambitious and results-oriented candidate with proven experience in developing market strategies and executing commercial plans for the clinical genomics market.  This position will be responsible for leading the market analysis, market development and go-to-market planning for the emerging long-read sequencing based clinical genomics market segment.

Primary responsibilities include:
-    Develop strategic market plans for the clinical genomics market based on strong understanding of customer needs, market and internal dynamics.  Prioritize commercial strategies including making recommendations on the application/assay targets, potential third-party partners, and regional market considerations for selling into and supporting the clinical genomics market
-    Develop and manage relationships with KOLs, Professional Associations and Lab Directors from strategic clinical labs within specified markets to support the introduction, evaluation and validation of SMRT Sequencing solutions for clinical genomics
-    Gather ongoing customer feedback on unmet needs and requirements to inform business strategy and product roadmap 
-    Works with Applications Group and R&D to define scientific and technical requirements for applications/assays
-    Develop marketing programs to provide localized awareness, education and lead to customer adoption of SMRT Sequencing within clinical genomics space   
-    Develop copy and creative content for clinical markets, appropriately positioning SMRT Sequencing solutions for research or in vitro diagnostic use within compliance guidelines, while conveying strong value propositions and clear product differentiation 
-    Acts as liaison with clinical sales specialists and global field team to facilitate introduction, sale and support of SMRT Sequencing into this emerging market


-    MS or PhD in a life sciences field
-    Experience selling to or working in Clinical Lab setting
-    Knowledge of /familiarity with NGS clinical testing
-    2-5 years of proven hands-on experience in business development, marketing and/or sales roles of increasing scope and responsibility in the genomics, molecular biology, or molecular diagnostic arenas
-    Excellent written and oral communication skills with varied personalities, including different levels within and outside of the organization
-    Highly motivated, self-starter who can work with minimal supervision
-    Effective at driving cross-team collaboration and building consensus 
-    Team player with an extremely positive “can-do” attitude and collaborative spirit
