Position Overview

MIODx is looking for an outstanding scientist to join our team!

Together with other researchers and external collaborators, you will develop next generation sequencing assays for immune system profiling. You will also help lead the development of new and existing assays into a service lab and kits. Under minimal supervision, the successful candidate will design and perform experiments, analyze results, and present findings in team meetings. You will also be asked to perform other duties as required.



  • Develop PCR-based assays for immune system profiling by next generation sequencing (NGS) in collaboration with a team of researchers and advisors
  • Design and prepare clear and concise experimental plans, protocols, and SOPs
  • Work other team members to optimize and validate robust PCR-based assays and test performance on manual and automated systems
  • Responsible for next-generation DNA sequencing library preparation and Illumina sequencer loading
  • Responsible for reviewing and analyzing data, interpreting results, and reporting findings to the team and advisors
  • Design and execute assay verification and validation experiments to measure assay performance characteristics, and test clinical specimens, if necessary
  • Coordinate technology and methods transfer to CLIA laboratory and train technicians at CROs to test clinical specimen using MIODx assays


Experience and Skills


  • Bachelor degree in biology, molecular biology, immunology, or similar discipline along with 8+ years of laboratory experience OR Master’s degree with 5+ years of laboratory experience
  • Experience with NGS
  • Molecular biology skills with PCR, qPCR, RT-PCR, or ddPCR experience
  • Windows OS, Mac OS, and MS Office literacy



  • Hands-on experience developing diagnostic assays under design control
  • Experience writing SOPs, verification and validation protocols, and final reports per FDA guidelines
  • Experience with statistical analysis of clinical data
  • Experience working in GCP, GLP, and/or GMP environment
