Requirements: 

Main Duties and Responsibilities 
Medimmune has an opportunity for a Scientist I/II in the Analytical Sciences Department.  The successful candidate will be responsible for analytical method development and carry out detailed characterization of biopharmaceutical products, such as humanized monoclonal antibodies, antibody-drug conjugates, bispecific antibodies, recombinant proteins, mRNA using analytical tools.  She/he will also be responsible to support regulatory filings, as well as troubleshooting for projects in research and development. The candidate will work on complex and technically demanding projects where analysis of data requires an evaluation of multiple variables. The candidate will make detailed experimental observations, review and analyze data, and interpret experimental results.  The candidate will present scientific data to both internal audiences within the company and external scientific colleagues.  The ability to follow SOPs, policies, and regulations, and to perform routine lab equipment maintenance is required.  As the position will require constant collaborative interactions with co-workers across functional groups, he/she must be able to work in a matrix structure and interface with different groups within research and development.
Essential Requirements 
The candidate must have deep understanding and expertise in several of the following technique categories: mass spectrometry (intact mass, peptide map, disulfide mapping, 2D-LC/MS), chromatography (SEC, IEC, RP, HILIC(Glycan), HIC), electrophoresis (icIEF, CE-SDS), and other analytical technologies (UV, ELISA, Western Blot, WES, SDS-PAGE, 2D-Gel)
In addition, broad background on protein structure characterization is essential. Prefer the candidate has both early and late stage experience.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills, including good documentation and excellent writing skills with publications, are critical. Good multi-tasking, time management and organizational skills are essential. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
Education :     
MS or Ph.D. in Biophysics /Chemistry or a related field.         
Experience : 
With MS degree, 8-15 years' experience; with Ph.D. degree, 0-6 years' experience. Experience in an industrial analytical lab working with therapeutic proteins are desirable.
Desirable Requirements 
Previous GLP and/or cGMP experience is desirable.
Experience with method qualification/validation is desirable. Experience in GMP lab is huge plus. Supervisory, time/project management, and regulatory filing experience are desirable.
