Job Description

The Scientist position distinguishes itself through research collaboration and high emphasis on new product innovations and analysis requirements. In addition, this position works in close collaboration with the GE Healthcare Technologies team, research sites, and clinical partners to, among other things, develop new product applications. Essential Responsibilities Duties include (but are not limited to): 
• Combining knowledge of chemistry/biochemistry/biology to deliver new products 
• Evaluating and extending new concepts as well as providing innovations which can be developed into new product advantages 
• Using broad expertise in chemistry/biochemistry/biology or (depends on area of specialty) to help resolve urgent issues with current products 

1. The cell culture scientist will work in a bioprocessing laboratory focused on the development and improvement of cell culture media and supplements for biopharmaceutical manufacturing and bioprocessing applications 
2. Lead portions of or entire development projects as assigned. This includes design, execution and analysis of cell culture based experiments 
3. Responsibilities may also include training others and troubleshooting experiments 
4. Minimal (<5>5. Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position 
6. Participate in continuous improvement activities by identifying and appropriately escalating process and product quality gaps, providing solutions when possible


Minimum Qualifications: 
1. Bachelors degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering, or related field 
2. Relevant work experience should meet the following threshold levels. 5+ for BS, 2+ years for MS or completion of PhD 
U.S. Specific Qualifications: 
1. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States full-time 
2. Must be willing to work in our Logan, Utah facility full-time 
3. Must submit application for employment through (or COS if internal) to be considered 
4. Must be 18 years of age or older 
5. Must be willing to take a drug test as part of the selection process 
6. Must be willing to submit to a background investigation, including for example, verification of your past employment, criminal history, and educational background Additional Eligibility Qualifications GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen. Desired Characteristics Preferred Qualifications: 
1. Masters or PhD degree in in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Physics, Biomedical Engineering, or related field 
2. Previous cell culture media development or industrial bioprocess experience 
3. Demonstrated record of innovation in the area of scientific expertise 
4. Excellent oral and written communication skills 
5. Experience with research collaborations 
6. Self-starter, energizing, results oriented, and able to multi-task 
7. Demonstrated problem solving ability and results orientation
