Job Description

Scientist is an integral member of R&D team, the ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of biochemistry, molecular biology, and instrumentation. Communication, critical thinking and strong analytical skills are crucial for success. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic R&D team and have the opportunity to work on cutting edge technology. - Plan, execute and document experiments for optimization of our products - Design and plan experiments, execute experiment protocols, analyze data and interpret results for qualitative and quantitative review - Utilize molecular biology techniques in the manipulation of nucleic acids for the creation and optimization of novel detection technology - Create, optimize and integrate protocols to streamline and standardize assay performance and perform evaluation studies - Design and document appropriate model systems for proof-of-concept and validation studies - Analyze results using appropriate statistical software - Clear communication with Bioinformatics/Biostatistics/Engineering/Quality team members regarding experiment planning, study needs, complex data analysis needs, and smooth commercialization of product - Document and prepare experimental reports - Clear and concise communication of results at group and departmental meetings - Critically monitor project status and overall progress toward project goals - Participate and present findings at conferences - Publish scientifically relevant data in peer reviewed journals  - Participate in the development of patent applications, if applicable


- PhD in Molecular Biology/Biochemistry/infectious disease or related field with 2+ years experience in an applied research environment (Postdoctoral work may serve as experience depending on background) - Demonstrated background with molecular biology techniques required - Expertise in PCR, DNA hybridization and sequencing with regards to sequence manipulation, assay design, and assay performance optimization - Experience with different automated liquid handling solution, including designing, testing and implementing new methods is a plus - Strong background in experimental design and assay optimization - Strong background in data analysis using statistical software packages - Hands-on experience with PCR and sequencing technologies is desired - Experience with assay/test development/submission and documentation, GMP knowledge, clinical trial for IVD is a plus - Independent and enthusiastic with good communication skills and team spirit - Proficiency in spoken and written English and Chinese - Good command in Mandarin is an advantage
