Job Description

The Science and Research Policy Officer serves as lead policy and programmatic staff for science and research policy activities and staffs our Research Committee and Diagnostics Task Force. The successful candidate will work with IDSA leaders and staff to identify issues and opportunities, and advance strategies. Key policy issues include ID physician-scientist workforce; regulation of federally funded biomedical research; diagnostics regulation, R&D incentives, clinical integration; biomedical and regulatory science; biocontainment/biosecurity; and others.


The ideal candidate will be a self-starter and possess 4 years of progressive related experience and an advanced degree in a related field. Exceptional analytical and communication skills are required. Experience with FDA, NIH or other government agencies or non-government associations would be valued.
