The position is be responsible for SCIEX separations sales in the Southern Region (Spain, Italy and Portugal). In order to cover a large geographical area, it may be necessary to work with sales agents and/or distributors. The specialist is responsible for developing relationships with sales agents to prospect for new business, generate leads, follow up enquiries, and close sales. The activities of the Specialist include providing technical product support during the sales process, initiating and organizing demonstrations, producing sales forecasts and territory planning.  Taking a consultative sales approach, the Sales Specialist will work with the sales agents to compete for all existing sales opportunities and develop new business within the territory to meet or exceed plan.  This will involve managing large bio-pharmaceutical, academic and industrial key accounts to build and maintain long term relationships. To achieve these objectives, the Specialist will use and involve the sales agents, internal resources and stakeholders early in the sales process and in the most efficient way.  During the course of daily responsibilities, the Specialist will gather information from the field and deliver it to Marketing to allow the Company to develop strategies and products appropriate to the market.Other duties / adhoc tasks as required


The ideal candidate will have the following experience: 

  • Proven track record of successful sales in Life Sciences, preferably related to Capillary Electrophoresis, Biopharma and/or HPLC.
  • Metrics driven with strong CRM/data analysis and reporting orientation: Lead conversion, funnel strength, win/loss analysis, forecasting, etc.
  • Superior territory management skills.
  • Good technical and product knowledge in Separations science.
  • Proven success in working with sales agents and distributors.
  • Proven success working in a field-based role.
  • Proven success in penetrating and managing large accounts.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • An understanding of the genetic analysis market would be an advantage.

 Education The ideal candidate will have the following educational profile: 

  • Undergraduate degree in Science (ideally advanced Life Science Degree)

  Job Requirements The candidate must have the following: 

  • Highest levels of personal and professional integrity and ethics.
  • Working knowledge of verbal and written English language communication.
  • Experience with personal computer, e-mail, and Microsoft Office programs.
  • Hold a valid European driver’s licence.
  • Hold a valid passport permitting European Travel.
