Job Description

The Sales Development Manager, Food Testing, Animal Health, AgBio, Biosecurity and Environmental Testing (FAABE) is responsible for meeting the needs of the expanding Applied Testing market, enhancing customer satisfaction and building customer relationships while selling proprietary/advanced technology products and services in the defined area. Additionally, the AT SDM offers proven knowledge in the specialized market segment areas with strong knowledge of extraction and assay technologies including automated extraction, liquid handling and detection technology systems. The AT SDM is considered within QIAGEN's organization as a key knowledge holder, contributes to the product development process and assists in the integration of new/acquired technology. He or she should be comfortable leading and working in teams, experienced at project management and successful selling at all customer levels. The AT SDM position supports the general sales staff (approx. 6-8 reps) as a market segment specialist reporting into the Sales Director for Applied Testing North America, within the Director of Market Development organization. Position available is for an applicant in the southeast region (AL, FL, PR, GA, SC, NC, TN).

Requirements

Primary Responsibilities:
* Create and develop strategy. Work is accomplished in a proactive manner without considerable direction
* Able to create and develop resolution independently to complex problems while meeting objectives
* Drive adoption of new technologies through key opinion leaders, seminars, national conferences, references and other as applicable
* Self directed, strategic solutions based approach to territory management
* Routinely contributes to and leads teams
* Experience in project management and complex sales
* Willingness and ability to take on additional challenging tasks/project responsibilities assigned by manager, business team, or others
* Contributes to Sales and Marketing product development including technology and market assessment of portfolio gaps, and provide market feedback and market analysis for new concepts and products

Areas of Responsibilities
Sales Revenue / Budgets: Meet or exceed sales targets for assigned products/services and assigned business objectives. Support other specialists and representatives and develop tactical plans to maximize revenues.
