Job Description

Under the supervision of the Vice President Business Development & Strategy, the Sales and Product Manager shall ensure the products meet commercial market requirements from pre-development to commercial launch and market introduction. He/She will also launch products into market and drive commercialization success through distribution network across Europe. He/She will manage distributor relationships on a day to day basis and obtain the agreed sales targets through strong collaborations and partnership. 

-        Responsible for inbound and outbound marketing to support the operational product development from a marketing perspective and use this to build the full launch and Marketing plan.

-        Leading the launch process:

  • Preparing launch plan and track readiness progression;
  • Building and executing Marketing plan, tactical plan and marketing materials;
  • Work closely with distribution partners to prepare the market pre-launch.

-        At international conferences representing the company, its products and solutions.

-        Install and maintain a KOL network.

-        Pre and post-launch voice of customer.

-        Permanent member of product development team representing marketing function.

-        Running Commercial reviews with distributors and with company management :     

  • Quarterly reviews
  • Tracking progress against business case; against forecast.

-        Post launch follow up.


Education and experience

-        Higher education – B.S-M.S. degree – Biology, Medical, Biochemistry, Bio-Medical sciences or equal with a business feeling or a business education with strong experience in Clinical Diagnostics.

-        A minimum of 10 years of experience as a Marketer and sales management.

-        Knowledge or experience in Molecular Technologies with emphasis on real-time PCR instrumentation, and or POCT devices. Experience with LIS/HIS/POC connectivity from a product management perspective.

Skills and competencies 

-        Experience in full life cycle product management and marketing; having launched a product.

-        Being actively engaged in product development pre-launch.

-        Strong communication skills.

-        Very good command of French and English, both written and oral.

-        Good knowledge of 1 or more of the following languages is a plus: Dutch, German.

-        Hands on – action oriented.

-        Able to work under pressure in a dynamic and fast changing environment.

-        Ability to cultivate internal and external professional relationships.

-        Team player.

-        Able to work independently and rely on your own knowledge and skills.

-        Time management is an essential asset.

-        Experience in Molecular and POCT is helpful but not essential; Understanding of laboratory and POCT processes essential.

-        Knowledge of molecular from sample to output and knowledge in infectious diseases.

-        Open minded and hands on – see work and do what needs to be done. Start-up mentality.

-        Seeks out own support and internal and external networks.

-        Has worked or demonstrates ability to work with a start-up mentality – can deal with anything that needs to be done without clear role definitions and little support.

-        Not afraid of hierarchy – will speak to whoever needs to be spoken to.



-       2-4 times per year to Canada/US, within Europe up to 30-50% travel by car, plane and train.
