Job Description

 

Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (CSHL) is currently accepting applications for an immediate and full-time joint Research Technician position in the Meyer and Beyaz labs at CSHL. The Meyer lab is studying how T cells are educated to identify foreign invaders among the multitude of cells in the body and the Beyaz lab is interested in understanding the mechanisms that link nutrition to organismal health and disease states. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to study the immune system from two different angles.

Requirements

 

EDUCATION: Successful applicants should possess a BS or MS degree.

EXPERIENCE: One to two years of research experience is preferred. Experience in mammalian cell culture and basic molecular cloning (e.g. DNAcloning, PCR, qPCR, etc.) is required. Knowledge in cancer biology or immunology, and experience in using mouse models and next-generation sequencing technologies (ChIP-seq, RNA-seq) are highly desirable. Bioinformatics skills and general interest in bioinformatics are preferred.

OTHER: This position entails taking care of mouse experiments, thus a willingness to handle animals is required.
