Fluidigm is looking for a motivated Research Technician- Chemist that will participate in the development and testing of new synthetic polymer reagents and conjugates. As a member of the multi-disciplinary team and reporting to the Research & Development Manager, the successful candidate will perform complete hands-on development of polymer reagents in an organic/polymer chemistry research lab environment.

You Will:

Perform experimental design, hands-on experimentation, and processing and presentation of research results
Exemplify thoroughness, attention to detail, and a meticulous work ethic
Ensure experimental protocols and Standard Operating Procedures are rigorously observed

Requirements:
You Have:

Proven ability to do polymer and/or organic chemistry synthesis and characterization
Strong aptitude in record keeping and data presentation
Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
Ability to maintain and calibrate lab equipment and to maintain stocks of research chemicals and consumables
Strong learning and communication skills
Ability to switch focus between tasks and eagerness to perform a variety of duties in a medium size business environment

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
Education and Experience:

Master Degree in Chemistry or related scientific field, or Bachelor Degree with 3 years of industrial experience
Background in polymer or organic chemistry or chemical biology is required
Experience in analytical chemistry is an asset
Background in micro-scale chemical synthesis is an asset
