Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, home of three Nobel laureates, is an independent, nonprofit research institution dedicated to the development and advancement of biomedical research to eliminate cancer and other potentially fatal diseases. A laboratory in the Clinical Research Division is recruiting a dependable and motivated entry-level Research Technician I to assist in development of our groundbreaking cancer therapeutic platforms, which will involve weekly routine protein purification from large-scale bacterial and mammalian cultures. Applicants are expected to be able to multitask effectively, perform simple calculations and accurate measurements and work well in a very active and high-energy lab environment.

- A bachelor's degree in a biological science with some lab experience.
- Demonstrated ability to make routine laboratory buffers and knowledge of molarity and dilutions.
- Experience in molecular biology and sterile culture technique is highly desirable, especially in familiarity with working with DNA, plasmids and proteins.
- Excellent record keeping is essential, including the use of Excel for documentation and tracking

The successful candidate should have scientific curiosity, be self-motivated, be able to take instruction and follow directions, and have good organizational skills.
