The Department of Genome Sciences is currently recruiting for a Research Scientist/Engineer Assistant (RSE Asst.). The RSE Asst. will assist in research focused on chromatin structure and function in gene regulation and genomics methods and technology development. This entry-level position will require basic molecular and cellular biology techniques. The RSE Asst. will be involved in next-generation DNA sequencing, transcription activator-like element nuclease (TALEN) production, and extensive tissue culture work. The protocols used by the candidate are well established and the research will be overseen by senior members of the lab. The person in this role will receive extensive training in tissue culture techniques and will be expected to work with cultured mammalian (human and mouse) cells.
