Job Description

Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory is presently seeking a highly motivated Research Investigator to lead a three person team dedicated to histology services.

The Research Investigator will develop and streamline the team’s histology workflow from tissue embedding to digital archiving and sharing of virtual slides. Responsibilities will include the design, troubleshooting and optimization of all immunohistology staining using automated slide staining system. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing reliable data for validation of research hypotheses, and will collaborate closely with various cancer research groups.

Requirements

 

Qualifications should include:

• Extensive experience with automated histology staining in fields of medical, health or developmental biology.

• Extensive experience with experimental design, development and execution of immunohistochemistry at core facility or equivalent setting.

• Experience with administration and budgeting at a core facility.

• Experience with troubleshooting and maintaining automated histology equipment.

A Ph.D. in biology or related discipline is required.
