Job Description

We are seeking a Research Associate with a strong background in molecular biology to join the Molecular Biology Group. The group plays a vital role in the advancement of our antibody development and validation efforts. The successful candidate will join a highly dynamic and diverse group with experience in molecular and cell biology, protein expression, protein purification, laboratory automation and high-throughput process development. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, well-organized and able to work in a fast pace environment.


Required Qualifications
A BS, BA or MS degree in a biological science (e.g. molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry or biotechnology).

2+ years of post-graduate laboratory experience in molecular biology or biochemistry.

Skills and Experience
The candidate must be able to independently execute and apply a variety of molecular-related techniques at an intermediate to advanced level.  These skills include but are not limited to:

1.  Molecular cloning.  The candidate must have the ability to independently design plasmid constructs and execute cloning strategies.
2.  RNA/DNA extraction/purification.
3.  RNA/DNA manipulation (e.g. enzyme digestion/modification, agarose gel electrophoresis, PCR, RT-PCR, etc.).
3. DNA/protein sequence analysis tools (e.g. Macvector, Sequencher).
4. ELISA, SDS-PAGE and western blotting.
5. Mammalian cell culture and sterile technique.

Hands-on experience with NGS or liquid-handling robots (e.g. Hamilton, Tecan) is a plus.
