We are looking for a highly motivated individual, who has extensive experience in maintaining mammalian cell lines, primary neuronal cell culture and pluripotent stem cell culture, to work as part of a research team, aiming to characterize in depth the function of candidate risk genes associated with psychiatric disorders and the functional consequences of mutations of the genes. The candidate is expected to develop and apply a number of methods to generate and maintain multiple types of mammalian cell lines and tissue cultures for different projects, as well as pluripotent stem cell-derived neurons. Experience with basic techniques of molecular biology, immunochemistry (IHC) and/or biochemical assays is an advantage. Basic computer skills and previous laboratory experience are required.

- Develop and apply multiple methods to routinely provide and maintain different types of primary mammalian (rodent) cell and tissue cultures, such as HEK293 cell culture, primary neuronal culture, or pluripotent stem cell-
- Ability to work in a flexible environment both independently and on multidiscipline project teams
- Interact and coordinate with collaborators as required
- B.S. in biology, neurobiology, chemistry, molecular/cellular biology or a related field, with at least 2 years related cell culture experience
- Prior lab experience in maintaining mammalian (rodent) primary cell cultures and tissue cultures from a wide range of tissues (cortical, striatal, hippocampal)
- Comfortable working with automated liquid handling instruments for large-scale neuronal culture
- Outstanding personal initiative and communication skills, and be able to work in a team
- Must be comfortable working with animals
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills, lab notebook practices and attention to detail
- Must be able to use sound judgment to handle a variety of tasks and to shift priorities simultaneously, as well as to effectively solve problems
