Job Summary and Essential Functions:

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to join the Genome Engineering Technology group of Regeneron Pharmaceutical Inc. at Tarrytown, NY. The successful candidate will support on-going projects in developing new technologies for genome and antibody engineering. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the practical and theoretical aspects of molecular biology, biochemistry and genetics.

-Apply up-to-date molecular cloning techniques to construct targeting vectors and expression vectors.
-Perform RNA and genomic DNA extractions; plasmid purification ; Southern and Western blotting; PCR and RT-PCR.
-Perform transient transfections of mammalian tissue culture cells.
-Design, execute and control experiments based on protocols.
-Develop new methods or technologies and troubleshoot protocols.
-Perform advanced laboratory calculations and manipulations along with the analysis and interpretation of data with little to no supervision.
-Document findings and lab records in a laboratory notebook.
-Communicate experimental results, conclusions and ideas directly to supervisor, project team members and management in quality presentation form.
Experience and Required Skills:

We are looking for candidates with a Bachelor's level degree in Biochemistry, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
Preferred candidates will have 1 to 5 years of related laboratory experience or a Master's level degree in a field outlined above and 0 to 4 years of related laboratory experience.
