Renal Scientist – Tissue Applications Responsibilities:
Developing and optimizing 3D constructs using proprietary Organovo technology, as well as using a battery of biochemical and/or cell-based assays for characterization.
Demonstrated proficiency with molecular, biochemical and cellular assay technologies, such as ELISA, histology, qPCR, and/or flow cytometry, is required.
Primary adherent cell culture experience is also critical.
Work within multi-disciplinary teams in a fast-paced work environment, focused on delivering results within established timelines without sacrificing data quality.
Strong background in renal physiology is most preferred.
Perform primary sterile mammalian cell culture and 3D tissue bioprinting
Developing, optimizing and implementing assays aimed at cell/tissue analysis, including immunohistochemistry, viability studies, quantitative PCR on tissue samples, and ELISA
Preparing detailed SOPs that enable transfer of validated assays to project teams and customers
Preparing detailed reports of study findings
Perform basic histological analysis on bioprinted tissues, including paraffin and cryo sectioning and immunohistochemistry;
Execute these efforts based on established protocols as well as suggesting and implementing modifications
Design and execute focused experiments on a timeline
Renal Scientist – Tissue Applications Skills & Experience:
PhD plus 2+ years of post-doctoral work in the area of renal physiology
Experience with in vitro models of renal function
