The UCSC Genomics Institute seeks a Quality and User Support Analyst to participate significantly in all aspects of quality assurance for genomics projects staffed by the UCSC Genome Browser group (genome.ucsc.edu) and technical support of the affiliated user communities. This individual works as part of a QA team that interacts closely with browser software developers and genomics researchers throughout the world. This position engages in varied, fast-paced work that requires great attention to detail, a broad understanding of the project software and data, and diplomacy in interacting with the public through the user support mail lists. The position supports users, reviews genomic data for quality, tests the software, reports problems and suggests improvements, and enhances, maintains, and develops QA processes and personnel training. The selected candidate should be excited to work in a fast-paced, start-up like environment within an institution of higher education in beautiful Santa Cruz, California.
