Job Description

We are currently seeking a QC Sample Management Supervisor to join our team! The QC Sample Management Supervisor will lead the LIMS, Sample Receipt, outsource testing oversight, and Data Reviewer functions, and have cross-functional interaction with personnel from other individuals in the organization. Primary responsibilities include providing leadership to the Sample Management function, development, validation, enhancement and oversight of LIMS systems or related modules that are used to track sample chain of custody. This will be a critical part of the leadership of the QC function, helping to provide strategy for the entire group as part of a high performing leadership team at a demanding and fast-paced facility.

About the Role:

  • Lead QC Sample Management team to sustain a scalable group to support commercial expansion while ensuring processes provide high quality support for Quality Control and Operations
  • Identify and implement processes to support sample receipt and processing for in-process and release testing and stability in support of the laboratory testing groups
  • Responsible for oversight of generation of a rolling daily/weekly master planning schedule for Quality Control Lab based off the priority of Operations
  • Responsible for project management activities for certain projects related to capacity, efficiency, and utilization
  • Oversee QC incoming material receipt and shipping of samples to contract QC laboratories 
  • Provide Leadership, management, training, and career coaching for QC Sample Management staff
  • Author, implement, and review changes to controlled documents
  • Provide support for OOS, lab and protocol deviations, CAPAs and change control records when necessary
  • Responsible for configuration and management of the LIMS and other operational software in the lab
    • Periodic audit of users and roles in LIMS and other systems used in the lab
    • Configuration of the LIMS for implementing configuration changes to test methods and assays as well as configuration necessary for execution of assays
  • Participate in Lean Six Sigma activities and implement solutions for removing waste and reducing variations in the laboratory

About You:

  • BS degree in Biology, Chemistry, or Microbiology
  • 3+ years experience within a GMP regulated environment
  • Understanding of the principles of analytical chemistry and/or microbiology as it applies to a planning role
  • Experience with a Lab Information Management System
