Job Description

The Project Manager of Operations Improvement Initiatives will be responsible for the identification, implementation, execution, control and completion of specific continuous improvement projects within a medical device and/or molecular in-vitro diagnostic company. The Project Manager will lead cross-functional teams to achieve high-impact project results focusing on business process excellence.


  • Lead the planning and implementation of multiple continuous improvement projects
  • Act as a change agent instilling a culture of Lean and Six Sigma to drive continuous improvement projects
  • Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables
  • Define project tasks and resource requirements
  • Develop full scale project plans
  • Manage project resource allocation
  • Plan and schedule project timelines
  • Track project deliverables using appropriate tools
  • Provide direction and support to project teams
  • Constantly monitor and report on progress of the project to all stakeholders
  • Present reports defining program progress, problems and solutions
  • Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs
  • Program evaluations and assessment of results

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a relevant technical discipline; or equivalent combination of education and experience to perform at this level
  • Minimum of 7 years direct related experience
  • Excellent project management skills working with project structuring, time and risk management assessment
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Six Sigma (DMAIC), Lean, and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Strong analytical skills to drive decision making based upon statistical and financial impact data
  • Experienced in building and managing a high-performing team; ability to quickly assess a scenario and align cross-functional teams to achieve organization goals
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with demonstrated ability to work effectively across and through organizational barriers
  • Strong experience as a change agent in the deployment, implementation, and maintenance of process improvement initiatives
  • Superior knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management
  • Excellent knowledge of project management techniques and tools
  • Working knowledge of quality documentation management systems
  • Direct work experience in project management capacity
  • Proven experience in Quality System Regulations (21 CFR 820; ISO 13485:2003)
